A Niche is important for a few different reasons. Here are some of them:

In order to sell more of the products you're promoting, you need to focus your marketing efforts in one area. This means that you should focus that campaign to reach the people that are more likely to purchase your products.

If you choose a Niche for your Affiliate Marketing business, it becomes easier to reach your target audience, because you can use the same techniques for all of them. Building Rapport, Credibility and Trust

To get rapport, credibility and ultimately trust; you need to show that you have some knowledge in the area you're marketing in. For example, if you choose to promote nutritional products, you can create a site and blog using the nutritional theme. You can also comment on other blogs, within that niche, and add your link to your comment user name. This increases your chances of more site traffic.

The articles your site contains along with your online presence in forums and blogs, will start to earn the rapport and credibility you need to earn their trust in the end. If you try to promote too many un-related products on one site, then it's going to be a little tough reaching out to your potential customers.

Narrows down your possibilities

When you first start out in an affiliate marketing business, you scour the internet looking for the right products to promote. There are tons of options out there, so finding the ones you want for your business is pretty time-consuming.

By choosing a niche to build your business around, you narrow down those product possibilities to a more manageable amount. You can then spend some of your time researching the product and the affiliate opportunity to see if they are what your business needs.

If you're starting out in affiliate marketing, you should definitely consider finding a niche to get into. It will not only make things easier for your marketing campaigns and driving traffic to your site; but it will also increase your earnings.

The higher income you want for your business can be attained easier if you narrow down your options, so you can focus all your energy to marketing to your target audience. Your target audience is the group of people that are more likely to be interested in your products and possibly buy them using your link.
