Finding Good Products to Sell is Key to Having a Long Lasting and Thriving Business

Without making sales on a continual basis, your chances of having a thriving, long-term Internet business are practically zero. This can only occur if your website visitors are willing to purchase your product offers. Naturally, they'll only purchase product offers that they find intriguing and useful to them. Also naturally, not all product offers will interest them, so how do you know what product offers will appease them?

This will involve research and finding out exactly what your customers are looking for. What they are seeking is based upon what type of problems they are facing and what type of solutions they want to that problem. The solution can be in the form of an eBook, report, software program, or script. If you can discover or develop a product offer that will address this problem, you're bound to make many easy sales of that offer to them.

There are many ways to find out what product offers would interest your website visitors, subscribers, and previous customers, two of which are shown below:

- Send questions to your subscriber and customer lists via email and ask them exactly what problems they are facing, what solutions are already on the market, what problems and/or complications those solutions have, and what the people would like to see in a future product offer that solves that problem.

- Go to forums and message boards that your target market visit regularly and/or that deal with your topic of interest and read through the various messages to get an idea of what problems they are currently dealing with, what positive and negative benefits current products already out there have, and what they would like to see in a future product offer that can completely deal with their problem.

If you have subscriber and/or customer lists, make use of them - after all, they were willing to give you contact information and/or even buy something from you, so they trust you to an extent. They will most likely be willing to give you information on what they are seeking in the marketplace that will lead to them making a purchase from you.

Additionally, going to forums and message boards where members of your target market visit frequently, you can learn much just by reading through their messages as to what they are looking for to solve the current problems they are facing. It is not necessary to post new message threads or even to reply to the existing ones; just read and evaluate what is already there.

You have two choices to go about discovering a product offer that will satisfy your target market's wants:

- Finding a product offer that is already in the market, but is not well known to be an effective solution for the stated problem(s).

- Creating a product offer that can effectively solve the current problems of your target market.

Option 1 will especially appeal to affiliate marketers, since you don't have to take the time and money to create a product offer that will appease your target market; instead, you just have to perform some research through some marketplaces, like the ClickBank Marketplace, and see if quality product offers already exist that will fit your target market's needs.

Option 2 will be great for those wanting their own product to satisfy their target market. Though you will need to spend the time and money on making your own product to satisfy the needs and wants of your target market, you will be able to promote it as your own product, boosting your own reputation for delivering quality solutions, along with being able to keep all of the profits from each sale and not settling for just a commission from each sale like you would if you are promoting someone else's products as an affiliate.

Utilizing the research you've done on what exactly your target market is looking for, find or produce an appropriate product offer that will solve their problem. Ensure that the product you are promoting or producing addresses the problems brought up by the target market better than the current solutions that attempt to deal with the stated problems; by doing this, your product offer will be seen as a superior offer and be the preferred choice as compared to current product offers, which will make it that much easier for you to gain sales from that product offer.

If you are developing your own product, make sure to take the time and money that is necessary to address all of your target market's needs and wants; you should not be skipping corners just to get the product out to the market quicker, as a subpar product will not deliver many sales and will lead to you getting a poor reputation as an Internet marketer, which could permanently your ability to earn profits online.

This doesn't mean though that the product has to be without flaws when it is first completed; instead, you should send out some complimentary copies to associates, friends, joint venture partners, and even some of your best affiliates and customers to get their feedback on what is good about the released version and what needs to be improved upon so that the final version of the product you release is so much better than any solution currently out there that producing sales for your product will be relatively easy and profitable.

A critical key to having a successful online business is to find and/or create attractive product offers that meet the needs and wants of your target market. This means that you must discover what those needs and wants of your target market are before you can find or develop that product offer; you can learn this information by asking your subscribers, customers, and website visitors questions via email, as well as by visiting and reading related message boards and forums.

By figuring out precisely what your target market is searching for, you will be more easily able to discover or create an attractive product offer that will lead to many easy sales, greater profits, and a growing positive reputation on the World Wide Web.
